Andy Cohen is all work and all play…all the time. In his sequel to The Andy Cohen Diaries, readers get an inside peek into the whirlwind life of Andy Cohen between September 2014 and May 2016. He tells tales of both his personal and professional life and lets readers know just what’s on his mind—good, bad, or indifferent.

Andy proudly and gratefully talks about his work in television, constant traveling, and his opportunities to host or speak at events. He details the highs and lows of being in the entertainment industry—the excitement and craziness surrounding his fall book release (The Andy Cohen Diaries) and all of the book signings, parties, interviews, and obligations that go along with it. While dealing with all the stress of the book tour, Andy still manages to embark on new professional adventures including the possibility of hosting a game show and starting his own channel on Sirius, Radio Andy. And if that isn’t enough, he still finds time to continue his work with the BRAVO network, including the Real Housewives franchise and hosting his television show, Watch What Happens Live. In the midst of it all, somehow Andy decides it’s also the perfect time to look for the perfect place to live for at least a year while he renovates his current residence in order to create his dream apartment.

In between his extensive list of professional obligations, Andy juggles an exciting personal life that includes partying, getting massages, dating, and spending time with his faithful companion, Wacha. As with his first diary, the accounts of his social gatherings and the continuous name-dropping remind us that Andy’s circle of friends and acquaintances are much different than that of the average Joe. These things are simply part of Andy’s reality and in his celebrity world, getting together with friends such as Kelly Ripa, Anderson Cooper, and John Mayer is just part of another day in Andy’s busy life. And even though he should be used to it by now, even Andy still gets captivated by famous A-listers such as the one-and-only, Cher. Andy is proof that even stars can still get star struck!

There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day for Andy, but the truth comes out when Andy admits that he keeps busy to avoid feeling lonely when the noise actually stops. When he finally confesses his true feelings about solitude and actually allows himself to feel lonely for the first time, Andy realizes how quickly time goes by and sheds some light on a different kind of reality.

I would Absolutely recommend this book. Andy is honest, yet comical, about his high dating standards, his love-hate relationship with working out, and his amazing connection with his family, especially his parents. Any Andy Cohen fan would likely agree that his writing style is very similar to the way in which he speaks. The voice and tone in the book are strikingly similar to what it’s like to listen to him on radio and television. You can almost hear Andy’s voice reading his diary entries to you, as if he’s personally letting you in on his innermost thoughts, secrets, shenanigans, and daily adventures. And to make it seem even more like you’re part of Andy’s world, he complements his diary with color photographs that remind us what it’s like to look through a friend’s personal photo album—selfies included.

It can be exhausting just reading about and imagining all that Andy packs into each day. It’s a wonder how he’s actually out there making it all happen! That must be why he makes an important decision in his last diary entry and breaks the news to his readers that he won’t be publishing any more of his diaries in the future. For someone who is all work and all play all of the time, it’s no surprise that he just doesn’t have the time.
